Dr. Samir Al-Azzawi,

Senior Consultant Haematologist and Head of Laboratory
Graduating in Medicine in Iraq in 1971, and since 1976, with subsequent experience of more than 5 years in Saudi Arabia and 15 years in the UK, Dr. Samir has been based in Muscat, Oman since 1996. Presently heading the Division of Medical Laboratories at the Royal Hospital, as well as, since 1997, being the Senior Consultant Haematologist and Head of Haematology at the Royal, in addition, since 1998, Dr. Samir has been co-ordinating the Distance Learning Programme in Blood Transfusion at the Ministry of Health in Oman. Dr. Samir also formed and served as Secretary to the Oman Haematology Oncology Forum from 2002. Furthermore, Dr. Samir also contributes his expertise as a member of the World Health Organisation (WHO) expert Advisory Panel on Health Laboratory Services in Geneva. |
