Biography

Dr. Anna Rajab Graduated from Kiev Medical University in 1972.
She started her commenced work at Ministry of Health in the Sultanate of Oman in June 1972 and had posts in Maternity of At As’Saada and Waljat Hospitals in Muscat. She established first Neonatal Service unit in Oman at Maternity in Khoula Hospital with 9000 deliveries per annum.

Dr. Anna Rajab obtained Diploma in Child Health (DCH) from Dublin, Ireland in 1980. After Completing the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians Degree in London in 1992 after a residency at Great Ormond Street Hospital In London. She starts the Royal Hospital Continued Neonatal and Pediatric services.

She studies for Doctorate Degree in Medical Genetics in 1993-1998 and Ph.D. Studies concentrated on Genetic Blood disorders, Congenital Anomalies, Malformation Syndromes, as well as Community and Population Genetics.

Dr. Anna Rajab established National Program for Control of Genetic Blood Disorders and Genetic Counselling service from 2000 to 2012.
From the year 2000-2015 she was involved in the establishment of Genetic Services and Genetic Laboratories, training Omani Nationals which resulted in the establishment of the National Genetic Center in 2013.

She published more than 100 scientific papers and book chapters on Genetics. Served as Consultant to WHO and EU research Commission.
Dr. Anna Rajab received WHO Award in 2005 and the 2012 Hamdan Award for honoring distinguished personalities from the Arab World.
