Healthcare Asia Awards is a prestigious healthcare awarding body that recognizes the achievements of hospitals in various categories. More than 80 senior representatives from China, India, United Arab Emirates, the Philippines, Oman, Singapore, Australia and many other countries in Asia and Pacific region gathered together on 23 May 2018 at Conrad Centennial Hotel, Singapore to make the event successful. 34 projects were awarded in various categories.
The awards were judged by healthcare industry experts form Ernst & Young, Deloitte, and RSM Singapore. Muscat Private Hospital won awards in two categories i.e. Patient Safety Initiative of the Year and ICT Initiative of the Year.
The first award winner at MPH is Mr. Aries Wong, Quality & Education Manager for Patient Safety Initiative of the year, who implemented along with his team the safety measures that proved to be beneficial to the patients. There has been a significant increase in patient satisfaction and confidence after the implementation of this project – which turned out to be 98% in 2017 as compared to 90% in 2016. In addition to that no-sentinel and adverse events were recorded as well as zero physical injuries resulted from patients falls. No infectious disease or hospital acquired infection outbreaks thus making the overall success of the program commendable.
The second award was conferred to Mr. Nadeem Khan, Group ICT Director for the project implemented by him and his team named “Building Smart Hyper-Converged (HCI) Datacenter. This project showcased the restructuring of the design of enterprise architecture by building a future proof, smart, consolidated datacenter to support MPH’s operations and enhance the service levels across the value chain of the hospital. The project not only achieved the substantial cost savings, high speed network, reduced manpower cost, but also build a future proof ICT Infrastructure, which is software-defined, scalable and composable.
Mr. Subbarao, Hospital Director, received the awards along with Mr. Aries and Mr. Khan on behalf of Muscat Private Hospital. Mr. Rao reiterated that in line with our hospital’s mission and vision, MPH is committed in giving the best and safest quality healthcare for the citizens and residents of Oman. These initiatives will not only enhance the service levels but also help MPH in optimizing the cost of operation without compromising patient safety and quality of service.
