With more than four decades of clinical excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. Chitra Jha is highly recognized for managing complex pregnancies and advanced gynecological conditions. She graduated from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India in 1980 and served in the Indian Army for five years before continuing her distinguished medical career in Oman.
Dr. Chitra Jha served at the Royal Hospital Oman from February 1993 to July 2022, where she was Senior Consultant and Head of the Maternal Medicine & High-Risk Pregnancy Unit. She managed complicated pregnancies involving maternal medical disorders and provided expert care for women with hematological disorders during pregnancy.
She earned Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (UK) in 2001 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FRCOG), UK in 2014. She also holds a Fellowship in Cosmetic Gynecology from the American Board of Aesthetic Gynecology.
Dr. Chitra Jha specializes in high-risk obstetrics, recurrent pregnancy loss, placenta previa, pregnancy with uterine fibroids, and pregnancies complicated by hypertension, thyroid disease, cardiac disorders, renal disease, and blood disorders. She is also highly experienced in managing patients with multiple previous cesarean sections and complex maternal conditions.
In Gynecology, Dr. Chitra Jha is known for performing advanced gynecological and laparoscopic surgeries including hysterectomy, myomectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, and treatment for endometriosis and uterine fibroids. She additionally offers surgical and non-surgical aesthetic gynecology procedures including perineoplasty, labioplasty, gynecological fillers, and laser gynecology treatments.
