Biography

Senior Consultant general and trauma surgeon at the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital.

Dr. Hani graduated as top student in the college of medicine at SQU in 1997.

He then did his surgical training at McGill University and The University of British Columbia in Canada between 2000-2006.

He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 2006 and followed that with a Fellowship in Trauma Surgery from the University of British Columbia in 2007.

He was the Head of the Department of Surgery at SQU from 2013-2020. He also was the General Surgery Residency program director and the Program Chair at the OMSB between 2010-2021.

Dr. Hani is also a course director of the ATLS course by the American College of Surgeons. He is an invited examiner in many international Universities as week as an invited lecturer and judge in many international conferences and courses.

Academically, He has been voted as best Trauma Fellow at UBC 2006, Best trainer at OMSB twice 2010 & 2014 and Best researcher in SQUH in 2020.

He is an expert in laparoscopic surgeries for hernia repair, gallbladder resection, bowel resection, colon resection and splenectomy.

He also performs Painless hemorrhoids surgery using the HAL RAR technique.
