Biography
Dr. Megha Venkatraman is a Senior Consultant in Fetal Medicine with over 30 years of extensive clinical experience in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She holds an MBBS (1983) and MD in Obstetrics & Gynecology (1986) from Bombay University, India, and obtained her MRCOG (2000), United Kingdom. She completed Subspecialty Training in Fetal Medicine at St Michael’s Hospital, Bristol, UK, and holds a Diploma in Advanced Obstetric Ultrasonography from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists / Royal College of Radiologists, UK.
Dr. Megha has held senior consultant positions in Oman for more than two decades, where she led high-risk obstetric ultrasound and fetal medicine services. She has managed a large volume of complex pregnancies, including detailed anomaly scans, prenatal diagnosis of congenital malformations, genetic evaluations in collaboration with specialists, amniocentesis procedures, and comprehensive parental counseling.
Her clinical practice emphasizes evidence-based management, multidisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate patient-centered care to ensure optimal maternal and fetal outcomes.
She is a Member of the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) and has served as a Board Member of the Oman Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (2020–2023). Dr. Megha is also actively involved in ultrasound training and mentoring of medical professionals.
