Dr. Abdullah Al Harthy

Dr. Abdullah is a Senior Consultant in Orthopaedic and Hand Surgery, treating general orthopaedic conditions from low back pain and arthritis of the knee and hip to foot and ankle conditions alongside orthopaedic trauma of the upper and lower limbs. He has practiced as an Orthopaedic and Hand Surgeon at Khoula Hospital for 32 years and at Muscat Private Hospital for 22 years.

Dr. Abdullah sub-specializes in Hand Surgery, treating conditions ranging from carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, tendonitis, congenital hand deformities, and Dupuytren's disease to the most complex hand and wrist fractures, including fractures of the scaphoid. He has extensive experience managing complex hand injuries related to industrial and occupational accidents from crush finger injuries and tendon lacerations to traumatic finger or upper limb amputations and specialized experience treating shoulder and elbow conditions, including complex fractures of the elbow and upper limb.

Dr. Abdullah earned his medical degree from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and completed fellowship training in General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK. He pursued further sub-specialty fellowships in Orthopaedic Trauma at the University of Toledo, USA, and in Hand Surgery at the University of Oklahoma, USA.

He is President of the Oman Society for Hand Surgery and a member of the Oman Medical Association and the American Society for Hand Surgery.
