About Dr. Fatima

Dr. Fatima is a Senior Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes with more than 30 years of clinical experience in the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. She diagnoses and treats a wide range of hormonal and metabolic disorders — diabetes, thyroid disease including thyroid cancer, adrenal and pituitary disease, polycystic ovary syndrome and osteoporosis — with particular depth in diabetes care and modern insulin pump technology.

Dr. Fatima obtained her medical degrees (BSc in Basic Medical Sciences and MD) from the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain, in 1992, completed the Oman Medical Specialty Board in 1997 and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, UK) in 2002. She then completed a two-year Endocrinology fellowship at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh — one of the leading referral centres in the region — where she trained in advanced endocrine care, including thyroid ultrasound and fine-needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy.

Her career has spanned leading healthcare institutions in Oman: the Royal Hospital, where she progressed through internal medicine, cardiology and haematology before serving as a Senior Specialist in Endocrinology; and the Directorate of Medical Services at the Royal Court Affairs, where since 2010 she served as Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Head of Internal Medicine. There she established a comprehensive diabetes unit and introduced modern diabetes technology to the service, including insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring (iPro).

Her broad foundation in internal medicine — from cardiology to haematology and general medicine — gives her a whole-patient view that is invaluable in endocrinology, where hormonal disorders often affect every system of the body. Dr. Fatima believes in accurate diagnosis, clear explanation and empowering every patient to manage their condition with confidence.
