About Dr. Intisar
Dr. Intisar is a urologist with more than 15 years of surgical experience across Oman, the United Kingdom, and France, and one of the few female urologists in the region with European fellowship training. She specializes in functional urology — the treatment of urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, and voiding disorders in both women and men — alongside robotic, laparoscopic, and general urologic surgery.
Dr. Intisar earned her MD from Sultan Qaboos University, graduating 7th in her cohort, and obtained Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (MRCS) in 2011. She then completed her full urology residency (DES, 2017–2021) and a Fellowship in Functional and Robotic Surgery (DESC, 2021–2023) at the University of Strasbourg, France, along with a Diploma in Urodynamics and Pelviperineology (Paris), advanced courses in neuro-urology and functional urology with the French College of Urology, and an intensive laparoscopic surgery diploma at the world-renowned IRCAD institute. In June 2025 she was admitted as a Fellow of the European Board of Urology (FEBU).
Her earlier training included urology rotations at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals in the UK. She currently practices at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital and sees patients at Muscat Private Hospital. Her research on sacral neuromodulation, artificial urinary sphincter outcomes, and MRI-guided prostate management has been published in international journals including World Journal of Urology and Progrès en Urologie.
Dr. Intisar is passionate about restoring dignity and quality of life to patients with bladder and pelvic floor problems — conditions that are common yet often suffered in silence — offering modern, minimally invasive solutions in a setting where every patient, especially women, can feel comfortable seeking help.
