Dr. Masoud Ali Al Riyami

Dr. Masoud is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with 40 years of experience, specializing in sports injuries of the shoulder, knee, ankle, and associated muscles and ligaments. His practice combines arthroscopic surgery with conservative and regenerative treatment options to help patients return to activity and sport.

Dr. Masoud holds MBBCh, MSc, and PhD degrees, along with a Fellowship in Shoulder, Knee, and Ankle Injuries.

His surgical expertise includes arthroscopic repair of shoulder dislocations, instability, and ligament and tendon injuries; arthroscopic knee ligament repair and management of patellar instability; and repair of ruptured ankle ligaments with ankle arthroscopy. Alongside surgery, he offers conservative treatment for shoulder, knee, and ankle pain, including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), hyaluronate, and steroid injections for osteoarthritis and tendon conditions.

Dr. Masoud previously served as Senior Consultant and Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at Khoula Hospital in Oman, and as an affiliated Senior Lecturer at Sultan Qaboos University. He is a Visiting Professor and examiner for the University of Malaya in Malaysia, and has served as a FIFA medical officer and former member of the FIFA medical committee, acting as a FIFA instructor for medical matters. He is a member of the Oman Orthopaedic Society and the Asia Pacific Knee and Arthroscopy Society (APKASS).

He has been recognized for long service and surgical excellence at Khoula Hospital, received a Golden Service Award as a FIFA medical officer, and has been honored by the Oman Medical Society. Dr. Masoud has spoken at more than 40 international medical conferences and is committed to providing professional patient care, applying up-to-date surgical techniques with prompt follow-up.
