About Dr. Nada
Dr. Nada is a Specialist in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care with more than 25 years of experience in the field, including over 14 years since obtaining her board certification. She provides comprehensive anaesthetic care for patients of all ages — from children through adults to the elderly — across a wide range of elective and emergency surgery, including high-risk patients and those with multiple co-morbidities.
She graduated with an MB ChB from the University of Baghdad in 1993 and began her specialist training in anaesthesia in 1997, rotating through several Iraqi hospitals. In 2005 she joined the Department of Anaesthesia and Critical Care at Khoula Hospital in Muscat, where she developed particular expertise in trauma and emergency cases and in neurosurgical anaesthesia with neurocritical care. She was awarded the Arab Board in Anaesthesia and Critical Care in November 2012, and has been practising at Muscat Private Hospital since 2019.
Dr. Nada is highly experienced in difficult airway management, ultrasound-guided central line insertion, and percutaneous tracheostomy in ICU patients. Her practice covers general and regional anaesthesia, monitored anaesthesia care and sedation for endoscopic procedures and CT/MRI imaging, epidural analgesia for labour, epidural steroid injections for chronic back pain referred from orthopaedic colleagues, and acute pain management. She is an active member of the hospital’s cardiopulmonary resuscitation team and maintains her BLS and ACLS certification, renewed every two years.
Neurosurgical anaesthesia remains her particular clinical interest, and she follows her patients through their post-operative course until they are safely stepped down from intensive care. Throughout her career she has worked alongside highly experienced surgical teams, and her stated priority is simple: to be a safe anaesthetist, to support the theatre team, and to give every patient and family clear information, reassurance and the best possible outcome.

Optimisation of patients with co-morbidities through a multidisciplinary team
Physicians, cardiologists, pulmonologists, endocrinologists and radiologists — so that each patient reaches surgery in the best possible condition
A clear explanation of the anaesthetic options available, general or regional, with their benefits and any potential risks, and time to answer the questions of both patient and family
A visit on the day of admission to take written consent, review all laboratory results, and give the nursing team clear instructions on pre-medication
