Dr. Raymond Nabih Elias

Dr. Raymond is the Medical Director of Muscat Private Hospital and Head of its Department of Surgery, as well as a Senior Specialist in General and Laparoscopic Surgery with more than 26 years of clinical experience. Since joining MPH in 2015, he has combined hands-on surgical excellence with hospital-wide clinical leadership, helping shape the standards of care across the institution while continuing to operate on patients personally.

Dr. Raymond earned his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 1995 and completed his residency in General and Laparoscopic Surgery at the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC) in 2000. He obtained the USMLE certification in 2001 and the Arab Board of General Surgery in 2003, and went on to complete multiple advanced training programs and diplomas in laparoscopic surgery at IRCAD in Strasbourg, France one of the world's foremost training institutes for minimally invasive surgery as well as at leading hospitals in France and the United Kingdom.

Before joining Muscat Private Hospital in 2015, Dr. Raymond practiced at several major hospitals in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia, and he holds active medical licensure in Lebanon (Lebanese Order of Physicians), Oman (Ministry of Health), and Saudi Arabia. Since 2015, he has served MPH as both Head of the Department of Surgery and Medical Director.

His clinical expertise centers on advanced laparoscopic surgery, with particular distinction in complex and recurrent (redo) hernia repair technically demanding procedures that call for exceptional precision after a previous repair has failed. He also brings extensive experience across a broad range of abdominal, anorectal, and thyroid surgery, including gallbladder removal, appendectomy, hemorrhoid surgery, and thyroid procedures.
