About Dr. Sherif

Dr. Sherif is a Specialist in Anaesthesia, Surgical Intensive Care and Acute Pain Management, with 19 years of clinical experience including 14 years since obtaining his specialist licence.

He provides general anaesthesia across all age groups, including for medically complex patients with cardiac, renal or other chronic conditions that make anaesthesia more demanding. His practice covers the full range of neuraxial techniques spinal, epidural and caudal blocks, the latter frequently used in children and he has long experience in providing epidural analgesia for painless labour.

Dr. Sherif has a particular interest in ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks. Used in suitable cases, these allow surgery to be carried out with excellent pain control while avoiding the potential side effects and complications of general or neuraxial anaesthesia an approach that is often especially valuable for older patients and those with significant co-morbidities.

He holds a Master’s degree in Anaesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care from Cairo University (2012), the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (2014), and an Egyptian Fellowship in Anaesthesia, Surgical Intensive Care and Acute Pain Management (2019). Alongside theatre work he manages patients in the surgical intensive care unit, including those with severe respiratory illness. He is a member of the Egyptian Society of Anesthesiologists and Intensive Care Physicians, and consults in Arabic and English.
