About Dr. Yousuf
Dr. Yousuf is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) and Head & Neck Surgeon with special interest and advanced expertise in ear surgery, hearing restoration, and cochlear implantation. He is recognized as one of Oman's leading specialists in the management of complex ear diseases, hearing loss, and advanced ear surgery for both children and adults — and led the surgical team that performed cochlear implantation in a 9-week-old infant, reported as the youngest cochlear implant recipient worldwide at the time of surgery.
With more than 20 years of experience in Otolaryngology, Dr. Yousuf has worked in Oman's major medical institutions, including Al Nahda Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital. Since 2015 he has practiced at Al Nahda Hospital — one of the largest ENT centers in the country — providing specialized care for patients with ear and hearing problems. He completed his advanced subspecialty training in Otology, Neurotology and Cochlear Implant Surgery as a Clinical Fellow at the University of Ottawa Hospitals, Canada (2019–2020), gaining international experience in advanced ear surgery techniques and hearing rehabilitation.
Dr. Yousuf is the Program Director of the Otology Fellowship at the Oman Medical Specialty Board. He has trained ENT residents since 2016 and Otology fellows since 2020, was twice named Best ENT Trainer at OMSB (2021 and 2024), and serves as faculty and surgical trainer in specialized ENT and otology workshops for doctors from Oman and abroad. He has published in international ENT journals and presented his research at major conferences in Oman, the GCC, France, and Canada.
Combining extensive surgical experience, international fellowship training, and academic leadership, Dr. Yousuf is dedicated to advanced ENT and ear care using modern surgical techniques — helping patients of every age hear better and live better.
